MILESTONES | 2020

In 2020, the Majuro Atoll Local Government accomplished several notable projects aimed at improving infrastructure and sustainability:

Bathrooms and Water Catchments: As part of our commitment to enhancing living conditions, we completed the construction of bathrooms and water catchments across Majuro. These projects provided improved sanitation facilities and reliable access to clean water, positively impacting the health and well-being of our residents.

Seawall Projects: In collaboration with the Ministry of Works and Infrastructures, we undertook important seawall projects to protect coastal areas from erosion and mitigate the effects of rising sea levels. These projects aimed to safeguard our communities, infrastructure, and natural resources from the impact of climate change.

Solar Streetlights: In pursuing sustainable development, we implemented a project to install solar streetlights throughout Majuro. This initiative reduced our dependence on traditional energy sources and improved public safety by providing well-lit streets during the night, enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.

Solar Power for Majuro Outer Islands: Recognizing the need for reliable and sustainable energy sources, we successfully implemented a project to bring solar power to all the outer islands in Majuro. This initiative aimed to provide clean and affordable energy solutions to remote communities, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and promoting environmental sustainability.

These projects in 2020 exemplify our commitment to improving infrastructure, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable practices within the Majuro Atoll. By prioritizing initiatives that address the essential needs of our community, we strive to create a resilient and prosperous environment for all residents.
